Has it really been a decade?

I remember the awful horror
Of the news reports; and fears
For a girl called Milly Dowler, missing
From her parents, friends and peers

She vanished from the station
The one she went through everyday
No one saw her or knew a thing
How does a girl just go away?

Has it really been a decade?
It seems like just last year
Now I'm a mum it's oh so real
Yet we can't all live in fear

Her killer is now imprisoned
No more harm will he ever do
Her parents work in Milly's name
Their way to make it through

This has been written as part of the Saturday Centus

Wow. Interesting that you and one other Centusian picked this as a direction for your piece. Same theme, very different approaches. Nicely done.

I agree with Anita on this. An excellent take on the prompt, as well.

That's what's so fantastic about writing to a prompt or theme; it allows creativity in all directions show

What a well written remembrance.

This was poignant and touching.

And every parents nightmare!
