I remember the awful horror
Of the news reports; and fears
For a girl called Milly Dowler, missing
From her parents, friends and peers
She vanished from the station
The one she went through everyday
No one saw her or knew a thing
How does a girl just go away?
Has it really been a decade?
It seems like just last year
Now I'm a mum it's oh so real
Yet we can't all live in fear
Her killer is now imprisoned
No more harm will he ever do
Her parents work in Milly's name
Their way to make it through

Nice job though the story is so sad....
ReplyDeleteSad but one with lessons for us all to remember. Thanks for reading
DeleteSo sad. She is so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it. Thanks for popping by
DeleteWow. Interesting that you and one other Centusian picked this as a direction for your piece. Same theme, very different approaches. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteThat's what's so fantastic about writing to a prompt or theme; it allows creativity in all directions show
DeleteWow, powerful work on the prompt.
ReplyDeleteThanks
DeleteI agree with Anita on this. An excellent take on the prompt, as well.
ReplyDeleteThanks, it's nice to know it comes across well
DeleteWhat a well written remembrance.
ReplyDeleteThis was poignant and touching.
And every parents nightmare!
