A whine at what time?

It's the middle of the night
I am curled up tight
Deep in deepest sleep
Not even counting sheep

Then I'm up like a shot
Body moving, brain in shock
There's a scream burning in my mind
It's (not) an amusing little whine

"Mummy mummy mum"
"I'm coming love", I run
"it's OK baby girl?"
She can't talk, I hold her so

Eventually she calms
As I hold her in my arms
She eases back to sleep
I stay there, not a peep

Morning rolls along
I ask her what was wrong
She has no memory of her call
Sleep talking, that was all!

A very cute poem here, Emma, on 140 words. That has to be harder to write than just a narrative like I do.

This sounds like a good Mom and a typical child. Very nicely written.

I don't care for sleep talking, ha. My son did that and also sleep walked which was even worse lol.

Gosh, this was just a perfect capture of that middle of the night panic when they call!

Your daughter is beautiful. That sunny yellow watch matches her happy, glowing smile!
