Zipped up grief

This poem was written for the letter Z as part of my A to Z of babyloss.
My mouth was zipped
I couldn't speak
Society banned
Me to mention grief
But I broke out
I didn't care
I told my story
I had to share
If we all talk
About our grief
Taboos will be broken
It'll bring relief
Unzip your mouths
Share all your tales
Let others know
They can also wail

I lost my mother 11 years ago today. Your poem really touched my heart and I agree. We need to talk about our grief! Thanks for sharing.

Emma! I agree!

Keeping a stiff upper lip doesn't allow anyone to share anything back!

I'll have a picture for you in the next few days!
