There was a knock on the door
A policeman stood outside
"A gas leak" he said
You must all evacuate

Not quite believing
I looked all around
Every house door open
Chins on the ground

We did as was told
We left right away
Only our beloved animals
Were allowed to stay

Ten minutes later
Everyone was gone
The silence was deafening
I hope it won't last long
