I'm going through a depressive episode now, and it feels a lot like what you've described.

I guess a lot of people feel this way around the holidays. I am thankful that I am NOT depressed, and able to enjoy Christmas with my family. One of the things I do to keep from getting depressed is to try not to expect unreasonable demands on my family and to be thankful for each moment I have with them, however much or little it is.
