Please leave me alone
Just for an hour
I don't want to watch Strictly
I've the end of Merlin to devour
Please stop taking photos
Leave me alone
Concentrate on the dancing
I'm watching on my phone
Oh yes, that's very funny
Blinging up the pic
What are all those add ons?
Actually I quite like it
Shall we watch the Dr
Who always saves the world?
It wouldn't be Christmas without
This time he saves us from the cold
Sounds like many a Christmas evening when I had teenagers about - minus the cells!
ReplyDeletePerhaps for those of us who are American, you need to clue us in on the shows. Is the doctor Doc Martin? That is a series a friend said I should watch. Right now I am going through Downtown Abbey Seasons One and Two (never watched it before) so I can be ready here for the start of Season 3! Aren't phones wonderful?? Who would have thought ten years ago.....
ReplyDeleteWishing you a very Happy New Year, Emma, and lots of good writing. Thank you for your participation / support of Poets United Poetry Pantry!
I can relate to this, as so many of my family are totally plugged in to their devices.......it's rare to make eye contact any more, hee hee. Not me though. I'm the last holdout. Too old for any devices besides hearing aids, hee hee.
ReplyDeletemy teen age daughters are big, big Dr. Who fans! May this New Year be one of realized dreams… even those we did not realize we were dreaming!
ReplyDeleteI, too, immediately thought of Dr. Who.
ReplyDeleteAlso, programs are definitely a huge part of certain memories. In the doctor theme, I grew up watching Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman with my brothers and sisters. Fond times, I guess.
