At the centre of the cross
Is a heart full of love
It's the light of the world
Brought from heaven above
Jesus, God made man
Taught about the greatest love
It's the centre of God's plan
Brought down to earth like a dove
If you're lost, feeling low
Remember what's central to it all
Love your neighbour as yourself
That's the centre of God's call

This poem was inspired by the amazing art work by Kim Nelson who has set the Sunday challenge at real toads. It's well worth visiting to see the art and poetry. I'm off now to see how much this piece of art would cost to buy.
Hello Emma,
ReplyDeleteSo right, but not always easy to carry out, is it?
"Love your neighbor as yourself" is a worthy goal.
ReplyDeleteSeemms natural that this sweet three stage poem and this illuminated cross/heart should be together.
ReplyDeleteSo smooth and soft, this comforting poem. Like a little lullaby.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you saw something in this picture which meant something very personal to you.
ReplyDeleteA good lesson to work on each day!
ReplyDeleteLovely poem, words to live by.
ReplyDeleteI am thrilled that the painting prompted the depth of feeling you so eloquently share ins your poem. And love is decidedly what it's all about.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful goal...we can never have enough love.
ReplyDeleteSo true... and beautifully expressed.
ReplyDeleteYes, "the center of God's plan," beautifully written!
