Pride before a fall

Over she topples
Grazed knees and cut elbows
Less sore than her pride

New to ice skating
Wishing she'd tried as a child
Less far to fall then

In youth we learn
In age we understand
Pride before a fall

absolutely the fall hurt more the older you get but she should be walking tall (or maybe skating tall) for expanding her horizons and the bruizes oh her derriere.

This is very good. I love the simple truth of it.

So many things I wished I had tried and learned as a child! But I don't think even that would have helped me and ice skating!

Kudos to her for getting out there and trying, but yes, pride can get in an adult's way, whereas children have no need of it yet.

Sooner or later all the lofty will be brought low. It's actually good to have a little pride knocked out of us once in a while. True words!
