Pomp and circumstance
Surprisingly relevant
Hope for the future
A modern priest
Leading the Church of England
And all Anglicans
Called to find a way
Together through big issues
Keeps us relevant
God at the centre
Jesus as the leader

We all need direction, Emma. How we chose our leader determines our path. Your journey sounds like a path well taken! Thank for letting me be inspired.
As a Roman Catholic, I greatly respect what you have done here. Peace.
P.S. I'm following you.
Thrilled to read a piece in reaction to the new pontiff. I appreciate the reverence this piece exudes, and the faith that is clearly behind it. Nicely done, Emma!
Emma,
I enjoyed the ceremony to elect the new Arch-Bishop, particularly the inclusiveness of all other faiths. A great sign of fellowship for the future.
Eileen
Sounds like a positive move for your church!
Beautiful, kiddo. He does seem a wonderful, humble and AWARE pontiff!
Beautiful write!
A most positive and hopeful reaction!
Inspiring.
I was raised American Episcopal, but we were so close to Anglican, all smells and bells. To see the church of my youth come into this schism at first broke my heart - but the reasons for it, for the Episcopals to pull away from hatred, from exclusion, and especially from the condemnation of LGBT sisters, brothers, and others (including allies like me) is productive. I'm now with the United Church of Christ (from the social justice-hewn Congregationalists), and I am praying for ALL to find the faith community that feeds them. Not to back out, but to embrace the new.
Thanks for this lovely poem! In faith and solidarity, Amy
