It it is still ...I've come late to this thread. It it is still relevant. I started as the lay Pioneer Minister at St Peter's Anglo-Catholic church in Whitstable on 1st September 2017 havinf spent 5 years as a Children and Families worker for the Methodist Church in the same town. My calling is very sotto Emma's. I believe that. Wing a Lay Minister enables me to identify with, and be identified with by the people that I am and shall be working with. Something which perhaps more of us should be looking towards.

I've just started LLM training, which for my diocese is one of flexibility. I can just do the foundation element, be authorised for ministry in my own parish, continue for the full LLM qualification, or I can look in other directions for further training which would equip me for other ministries. At the moment, this seems to me to be in the shape of some form of Chaplaincy, in the community, reaching out, much as your already does, to those who might be seeking, but can't find it within the church walls. This is still an evolutionary process, but things are taking shape that might well give the space for such a ministry to be viable within the parish, working with other churches and across the deanery.

Early days, but I pray for guidance.

Prayers for your ministry, which I have followed with interest from the start, and will continue to do so as it grows, perhaps in unexpected directions.UKViewerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18114944341930758335noreply@blogger.com
