The prompt this week was:
… the rain turned the road into a river…
Here is my take on the prompt.
The rains on the African Plains
It was hot as could be
With the sun beating down
The land was all scorched
There was no water around
Then the horizon went dark
And it quickly moved in
The rains were arriving
The wet season would now begin
It fell from the sky
In torrents galore
Fell on the ground
Till it could take no more
The rivers were full
The Savannah coming alive
The rain turned the road into a river
We no longer could drive
The plants all flew up
They were reaching for the sky
Then the flowers all opened
And the insects started to fly

Ah, the beauty of a foreign land, even if it is deadly at times.
