Death

These two poems were written for the letter D on my a to z of babyloss.

There are many one syllable words
Used to name the death of a baby
Like Loss, Miss and Still
Or Sleep, Fail and Weak

But one word could replace them all
One word that cuts straight to the point
One syllable, all powerful
Death

My babies died
My babies are dead
Death is very real to me
I'm not afraid to name it

When other words are used
It doesn't disguise the truth
They don't make it any better
So please just speak of death
