Today seemed like a good day
It started with a smile
But quickly it degenerated
Until I did hide a while
I blame it on the tantrums
They're like a newborn beast
Arriving out of no where
And on my girl they feast
They turn her, like a tornado
Into a swirling mess
Shouting, screaming, kicking
I don't like it, I confess
Eventually it's over
Like a storm it ends
Leaves us feeling beaten
Luckily cuddles mend

This poem was written for the letter T this week at Jenny Matlocks Alphabe-Thursday.
Beautifully rhymed poem! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteSaying 'hello' via Alphabe- Thursday - mine for letter 'T' @ ImagesByCW is about the Ticino / Valle Verzasca
Visiting from alphabethursday. We've been doing a ton of tantrums around our house lately too. I like how you made it sound like the tantrum had a mind of its own, because that's how they feel at our house!
ReplyDeleteThose tantrums are exhausting aren't they? Hopefully they are few and far between and will be something she outgrows ASAP. But you have the right attitude--cuddles afterward help both of you feel better!
ReplyDeleteA good long cuddle can certainly mend a tantrum! Very cleverly written!
ReplyDeletetantrums...not so good. cuddles....terrific!
ReplyDeleteAh...random rages. So exhausting. So difficult to live life around.
ReplyDeleteThis poignant little poem was so touching...and felt so raw.
I enjoyed reading your link this week, but I'm sending a big hug and a prayer your way, just in case you can use a spare.
Hugs and A+
