Love is....

As I sit and cuddle Tommy
I'm thinking about love
What it gives and how it comforts,
God's gift from up above.
For you
For me, all our lives through
Onwards
when ever we're in need
Just look closely and you will see
God's love taking the lead

Xxxxx

This poem was written for the Sunday mini Challenge at real toads - to write in Robert Herrick's stanza form which develops the 17th century hymnal form, in the format:

x x x x x x x a
x x x x x b
x x x x x x x c
x x x x x b
x d
x x x x x d
x c
x x x x x e
x x x x x x x a
x x x x x e

X = syllable

You've done really well with this form, Emma. The lines come naturally and your idea flows through to the conclusion.

Happy New Year!

What I find most endearing is the wonderful photo of the kitty and its special person. Lovely.

Delightful, Emma. Warm and sweet without being the least bit sappy.
