Open the door, let him in

Who's that knocking at the door?
Should I go and see?
What if it's a stranger
Or someone wanting to berate me?

But it might be a friendly face
Someone I'd love to see
Then I'd regret not opening the door
To see who it might be

Perhaps I'll have a little peak
It can't do any harm
Oh look it's God the father
With friends on either arm

Come in, it's so nice to see you
What brings you here today?
"We've heard you need some help
Can we come and stay?"

Well yes, but I'm not sure you'll like it
"We will, it's the place for us
Sit down, let us look after you
We've gifts of strength, peace and love"

I'm so glad I opened the door
Saw who was there for me
Now God is here to stay
Alone I'll no longer ever be
