Teen Mentoring Programme - A small charity a day in May - Day Fourteen.

Welcome to day fourteen and the first day in Week Three - Caring and Sharing where I highlight those small charities that care for those in need and share their skills.

The Teen Mentoring Programme is part of The Source Young People's Charity which is stepping out to help young people overcome the issues that face them.

They use solid and consistent Christian values to work with around 600 young people a year through our café, teen parent & mentoring programmes, anger management, REAL evenings, after school opening, social enterprise intiatives and football team. They are committed to seeing young people transformed, and to operating as a centre of excellence.

Based in the middle of Aldershot, their projects allow Rushmoor's young people to 'Be, Belong and Become' and move forward into a fulfilment of their destiny. They do this by providing a safe place for the dynamic spiritual growth for young people.

Right now, they're in a very exciting time! That doesn't, however, mean that it's without its challenges. They are dealing with young people from four of the most deprived wards in the country, in a town that has more licensed premises per population than anywhere else, a drug and violence culture and a teen pregnancy rate that's consistently amongst the highest in our region. But, in the face of these barriers, they are seeing some very real results across all of our projects.
