Welcome to day two of Week One - Close to Home where I highlight those small charities that are closest to me geographically and personally. For an introduction to this series please visit http://llmcalling.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/small-charity-day-in-may.html
REinspired is a Christian charity based in Earley. Their vision is to see churches fully engaged in supporting their local schools in religions education and the spiritual development of children.
REinspired go into all the local schools and deliver exciting, interactive and life changing RE lessons. These sessions are led by an experienced RE coordinator, who liaised with the schools to meet their curriculum requirements, and delivered by trained volunteers from local churches,
I am an REinspired volunteer; it is a rewarding and joyful role working with kids between the ages of 4 and 11 to help them better understand what we believe as Christians.
My favourite sessions are Faith in Action where we share how our faith is live in our choices and undertakings; and Difficult Questions where the older children have the chance to ask us anything they've ever wanted to know about Christianity. There's nothing better than being asked what you believe and why, it keeps you very real.
REinspired believes a positive atmosphere of openness and mutual respect encourages personal growth enabling pupils to embrace tolerance, openness and spiritual development in a meaningful way.
