Cliffs notes #NaPoWriMoDayTwentyFive

Late, so late; it can't be that time
Hand brake turn; don't knock down sign
Congratulations toasted with wine
And then again, with more design
Same old faces, such a chore
Wishing my life could be a bore
Until a shock, how could it be
He was a lion, roar did he
Now we get it, at last it makes sense
Follow your heart, believe in romance

Izy at real toads challenged us to write a short cliffs notes poem for our favorite book, film or music.  Can you work out mine from this?

Um, taking the first line, plus "wishing my life could be a bore" — I'm guessing Alice in Wonderland.

Lion makes me think of the Wizard of Oz...but I'm wrong...unless Dorothy is all grown up ;D

The first line made me think of the rabbit from Alice, too, but the rest doesn't fit that, so I have no idea!

I too at first thought Alice in Wonderland, but also some elements of Oz...but the story you've captured here (and in so few words) is a fine love story all on it's own. I am reminded of Sabrina (the black and white movie version). Well done and viva la
