Short bouts of prayer improve mental health
I saw this article in the Los Angeles Times and it occurred to me that research is now needed to show that short bouts of prayer would also improve mental health.
The research shows that 12 minute chunks of breathing, chanting and repetitive finger movements reduced depression and stress when completed 8 times a day. Well when I pray meditatively I repeat simple prayers or bible verses, I breathe deeply and slowly and I often handle a holding cross or prayer stone.
Perhaps this is why I feel so positive so often. Prayer truly is good for your health.

Yes, good point, I find the simplicity of meditative, contemplative prayer, the kind we do in our Julian groupm really does help my mood and outlook.
I always spent my half an hour to read this web site's articles or reviews all the time along with a mug of coffee.
