Rachel often asks me why we call today Good Friday.
There's nothing that's GOOD about these words, nothing that makes me feel happy or glad; yet I know that it's good for all of us, for all time.
What Jesus gave was a gift, a pure gift, of goodness.
It's hard to understand as a child, and it doesn't get much easier as an adult; but it is this which is the core of our faith. Jesus gave us the gift of love and forgiveness for all time.
With a crown of thorns on his head, nails through his hands and feet and being mocked as The King of the Jews Jesus gave up his life, spilled his blood and saved us all.
