Musings by the beach

Standing
Watching
Waiting
Observing

The world rushing by
Faster than it needs

Wondering
Puzzling
Thinking
Rationalizing

Why it's all needed
Where it all leads

Remembering
Musing
Recollecting
Wishing

That everything could return
To the way it once was

Deciding
Forgetting
Planning
Hoping

For a future of moments
Valued, just because

The photo provided at sepia Saturday was the inspiration for this poem.  I had a strong sense that this man was standing at the intersection of the quieter past and the noisier future.

What a lovely thought about the man standing at an intersection in time. The poem is beautiful.

Hello Emma, what a lovely poem and yes I can feel the emotion in your words. This is a place where we all will find ourselves eventually. Blessings

Emma, you said "Come on, leave me your comments". So I will, but believe me, competing with your poetic capabilities... I wouldn't even think of it!

He looks somewhat lost
But having appeared in this post
I am glad I now know him
And he deserves your poem.

Interesting concept don't we all live at the intersection of time? In our own small way we are each the conduit whereby the future flows into the past.

This old fellow appears to me to be on the brink - the brink of what, does he know?
